This document provides a 3-step guide to set up Google Authorship for blogs. Step 1 involves logging into Google+ and adding your blog URL. Step 2 is completed in WordPress by logging into your dashboard, updating your profile, and ensuring you have an SEO plugin installed. For non-WordPress sites, code must be added to blog posts. The document encourages using Authorship to increase author visibility and credibility in search results.
5. 1st Part Complete!
Congratulations, you have completed the first part of setting up Authorship.
You will no doubt be delighted to learn that that was the hard part if you are
using WordPress.
The next slides in this presentation will outline how to complete the 2nd part of
this process on WordPress.
For anybody silly enough to not be using WordPress for their website/blog/CMS,
you will need to somehow add the following code to your posts and articles
where you want to claim Authorship:
<rel=”author” link=”your-googlplus-url” />
6. Part 2, Step 1 – Login to wp-admin
After logging in to your Dashboard,
you will need to click on Users and
then on Your Profile
8. Part 2, Step 2 – A Caveat
In order for this to work and be this simple you MUST have one of the following plugins
installed:

9. Part 2, Step 2 – A Caveat

10. Part 2, Step 3 – Rejoice!
Once you’ve saved your profile with G+ information included you are
completely done, assuming you have one of the two afore mentioned SEO
plugins installed.
If you haven’t, then you really should have which is why I included links in the
last two slides. Personally I would recommend Yoast’s SEO plugin over All-in-
one but the latter works fine too and is a little bit less technical.
(common sense would dictate that the less you have to do the less the results
of your actions – bear this in mind when choosing which plugin suits you best)
Just one last thing…
