• LAWCF was founded in 2003 by five young
men who met as students at Hampton
University, thus our insignia, The
Emancipation Oak.

3. LAWCF – Fund Raising
• LAWCF has raised over $750,000 in cash and
in-kind donations in its 8 years of operation

5. LAWCF's first program was a high school football academy in
Detroit in 2004. Since then LAWCF has operated academies in
Washington DC, Chicago, Tulsa Oklahoma and San Francisco.
Atlanta is scheduled for 2011.

• In April 2010 Brandon Graham a - 2005 Detroit Sound Mind
Sound Body Camp participant was the first LAWCF mentee
to into the NFL, He was selected 13th
by the Philadelphia
Eagles.

• In 2010 LAWCF became the official lifetime partner
of the NFL Super Bowl's Player Networking Event.
All proceeds from the event are donated to LAWCF.

19. LAWCF Angels Among Us Award
• 2010 LAWCF received the Angels Among Us
Award from NATIONAL COUNCIL OF NEGRO
WOMEN (Potomac Valley Section).

20. LAWCF Mentoring Programs
• Since 2005 in Detroit and 2006 in Washington DC
LAWCF has conducted year round mentoring
programs for underprivileged males ages 13-18 with
a focus on academic achievement (ACT/SAT prep),
health and physical fitness, as well as improved
personal and social conduct.

21. LAWCF Mentoring Programs
• LAWCF has seen 65% of the youth it has
worked with graduate from High School
• LAWCF has assisted in sending over 300
high school youth to college

22. LAWCF Adopt a Soldier
• Adopt A Soldier was founded in 2004, a project that
received seven different community awards for
sending more than fifteen hundred packages to over
two hundred and fifty deployed soldiers.

23. LAWCF Soup for S.O.M.E
• In 2009, LAWCF donated and served 1000 pop-up cans
of soup, along with the Department of Housing & Urban
Development, to S.O.M.E (So Others Might Eat).
S.O.M.E., based in Washington, DC daily homeless
feeding site, has been a community service partner
since 2006. We have served over 3,000 homeless
individuals and volunteered over 1,000 hours since 2006
