WHO WHY HOW ?
state of the state
“do librarians make subject guides with students in mind, OR are subject guides made as tools for other reference librarians?”
WEB DESIGNER: too complicated... not sure where to start... busy... competing for my attention... could be more intuitive...
STUDENTS: 1. negative connotations - “stressed” + “overwhelmed” 2. audience confusion - “professors” + “high schoolers” 3. when? all over the place
STUDENTS: so many words... change font/colors... tag cloud = pointless... everything blends together... seems random... no hierarchy... why do i need a link to google...
could we make libraries more intuitive so that students wouldn’t need landing pages or a “map” to the library?
