This document discusses how school design needs to change to better facilitate 21st century learning. Traditional 19th and 20th century school buildings are no longer suitable due to shifts in concepts of knowledge, learning, and pedagogy. School design should be collaborative and involve students, teachers, and community members. Alternative models discussed include "learning streets", "houses", and "pods" instead of traditional classrooms. While technology is important, changes require more than just technology integration. School design also needs to balance facilitating new pedagogies while maintaining links to institutional history and identity.
