Notas do Editor
Tithing is your acknowledgment of God as owner and you as His steward.A steward is a guardian of the interests of another. He owns nothing, but is careful to guard, protect and increase the property of the one he serves. We are stewards of time, strength, ability as well as our money.
To honor means to respect the person and to give him or her appropriate attention and obedience. In the agricultural community to which this teaching was directed, the barns represented their bank, their livelihood, savings, and investments. God desires to bless us so that we might be a blessing to others.
For God the focus of the tithe is relationship. He is our Father and Master we are sons and stewards and in the context of both relationships we are accountable to Him.The Father was looking for his honor and reverence not just the money.
Not a meal you would present to someone you wanted to honor. When we give God our leftovers we dishonor Him.What would you think if this was served at a meal to honor you?
Honor is about love, presentation, and attitude, respect. There is a desire to please and express gratitude.
Honor the Lord with our substance.Money is a means of exchangeIt represents value
The tithe or first fruits acknowledges God as the owner and giver of all increase into our life.
As stewards our commitment must be to God as our owner and source. Abram refused to submit to Sodom as his source, he relied on the covenant.
The greatest wealth we will ever possess is our relationship with our heavenly Father.

1 Peter 5:8 “Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.”
Consider your ways – this is what you bring on yourself when you don’t put God first.Giving God the 1st tenth is not a minus but God multiplies the remaining 90% so that it can do more than 100%.
