with a team, you’ll design, construct, and program an automated machine that completes functions operating by your rules
and protocols. Along the way you’ll learn about material logistics, mechanical stress, design strategies, and other topics that
will give you a leg up in this fascinating field.

Building, owning, and operating your own business is an experience like no other, so why wait until after college to learn
how? This “junior MBA” program will expose you to a curriculum similar to a business school’s, but designed specifically for
motivated high school students. You’ll learn what it takes to build a business – from that first great idea to the birth of a
successful company. Business leaders, educators, and executives will share firsthand knowledge on how to get the job done.
Lay the foundation in the ENTREPRENEURSHIP SIMULATION.
Teams of junior entrepreneurs develop a full-scale business plan and present an executive summary to potential investors –
a critical component of any emerging company. Your plan will include everything from concept and product development to
marketing, sales, and finance guidelines. You’ll also research the competitive landscape, and make savvy decisions to ensure
success.
Present your ideas to real investors for valuable feedback.

LAW & JUSTICE
Explore the world of Criminal Justice and the Legal System
Ready to investigate a crime and take it to the courtroom? Whether your aspirations lie in the career fields of crime scene
investigation, crime lab and evidence analysis, or as an attorney and member of the legal team this exciting and fast paced
conference will help you gain valuable insight into the legal process. Few professions call for as much technical knowledge,
critical thinking and strategic teamwork. At the Law & Justice conference, you’ll discover exciting fields where scientists step
out of a laboratory and law professionals fight for justice. Meet forensic experts, crime scene specialists, government
agents, and other legal professionals who will lift the veil to show you how evidence is processed and a case is presented in
the courtroom. Ultimately you’ll understand the complex threads between the first few minutes at a crime scene and a
solid conviction.
Crime Scene Reconstruction
You will see how evidence is collected and persevered and how the smallest detail can unravel a complicated crime.

with the advent of citizen journalism in new formats like YouTube and blogging, the media has changed considerably in the
last few years alone. Get a firsthand look at this fast-paced field and learn how the various areas of the media differ in
reporting and presenting the news. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to meet and learn from some of the leading
journalists, media figures, and educators influencing our word. Understand how the media shapes our reality, and how you
can shape the media.
Understand the critical role journalists play in our democracy.
Journalists have always served as a check on government and business by objectively reporting happenings to the public. In
the Media & journalism conference, you’ll examine the way media works, and debate the practices, legal ramifications, and
ethics involved in capturing, framing, and presenting a story.
Research, write, and report your story in the JOURNALISM SIMULATION.
Once you’ve studied the role of media, put theory into practice and go into the field to research and report a story. You’ll

Enter the complex and changing world of MEDICINE & HEALTHCARE.
Explore the world of medicine and find out what you can do to improve your chances of getting into medical school. You
will examine the most significant and controversial issues facing the medical profession today. Leading researchers,
physicians, and educators will expose you to the challenges of managed care, lead you in discussions about global health
issues, and take you through cutting-edge processes in diagnosis and treatment.
See the inner workings of a HEALTHCARE TEAM.
Experience what it’s really like to be part of a healthcare team. Working as a general physician, specialist, hospital
administrator, or other medical professional in our simulation, you’ll manage a patient’s case and make healthcare decisions
based on new medical facts and circumstances presented each day.
Practice diagnosis and treatment in the MEDICAL SIMULATION.
Depending on location and session, students have the rare opportunity to either work with cutting-edge robotic simulators
that look and respond like real patients, or participate in a standardized patient simulation where medical actors play the
roles of patients with unidentified illnesses.
Students conduct patient interviews, evaluations, and assessments to diagnose the illnesses and then select treatment
regimens – while weighing healthcare and insurance costs – to obtain the optimal outcome. These are invaluable and
innovative learning tools for engaging potential medical students with up-to-date procedures.

NATIONAL SECURITY & INTELLIGENCE
Get an inside look at the nation’s agencies and organizations that ensure our national security.
Meet intelligence officers, diplomats, military leaders and policy makers and learn about the complex issues facing our
world today. Get a first-hand look at the ways in which governments gather and use intelligence to create national security
protocols, form diplomatic strategies and consider military alternatives. Discuss and debate the sensitivities of foreign
relations among countries with competing interests.
You’ll explore the roles of domestic and international organizations in intelligence gathering, diplomacy and both national
and global security. You’ll learn how agencies such as the National Security Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency,
Department of Homeland Security, FBI, CIA and Secret Service operate. You will also explore the role of the United Nations
and its member countries in maintaining world peace. You’ll see why inter-agency and international cooperation and
