DEATH OF ROLLA STURGEON

Rolla Sturgeon, aged 62, died at 9:30 this morning at his home 1 mile north of Unionville after a long
sickness with tuberculosis. He is survived by a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hardin and Mrs. Sarah
Pedro. The funeral will be tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Mt. Gilead Church in charge of Rev.
Hamilton.

MRS STURGEON DEAD, AGE 68

Of pneumonia, at the age of 68, Mrs. Jane Sturgeon died this morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her son-
in-law, John Hardin, East Cottage Grove. Mrs. Sturgeon was a nitive of this county, a member of the Mt.
Gilead church and lived all her life in these parts. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hardin and Mrs.
Sarah Pedro, east of town. The funeral will be Friday afternoon at 2:30 and burial in the adjoining
cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Pedro, 81, died Thursday afternoon at the home of the daughter with whom she lived,
Mr. Oscar (Grace) Barrow, 816 W. 11th St.

The widow of James Pedro, farmer, who died in 1940, Mrs. Pedro had lived with her daughter for 17 years.
She was a member of the 11th St Pentecostal Church.

Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Barrow, are two other daughters, Mrs. Frank (May) Bryant, R. 7 and Mrs.
William (Leona) Hash, 709 W 12th St; four sons, Lloyd Pedro, 1201 W Cottage Grove, William Pedro,
1300 W. 11th St, Cleo Pedro, E 12th St and Albert Pedro, 102 E Grimes Lane; one sister, Mrs. Laura
Hillenburg, 1801 Gray Drive, 34 grand children and 51 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the W 11th St. Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Orville Frame
will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Barrow residence until time for the services. Day Funeral home is in charge of
arrangements.

JAMES PEDRO, Age 70, Dies

Funeral Services to be held Friday

James Pedro, 70 year-old resident of 631 North Adams Street and for seven years janitor of the Eleventh
Street church until his final illness, died at 8:10 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Frank Bryant at 1010 West Eleventh Street. Death was caused by pneumonia and followed a two weeks'
illness during which he has been cared for at the Bryant home.

Mr. Pedro, a emember of the Eleventh Street church, is survived by the widow, Mrs. Sarah Pedro and the
following sons, Lloyd, William, Cleo and Albert Pedro, all of Bloomington. Four daughers also survive.
They are Mrs. Joseph Hellenburg, Mrs. Frank Bryant, Mrs. William Hash and Mrs. Oscar Barrow. Three
surviving brothers live in Nashville and are Ned, William, and Ira Pedro. Twenty-four grandchildren also
survive.

The aged man moved to Bloomington from Brown county 35 years ago.

The body is to be taken at 4 o'clock this afternoon to the Pedro residence on North Adams Street to remain

until the funeral hour.

Services will be held at the Eleventh Street church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon under the direction of the
Rev. Orville Frame. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead cememtery.

Active pallbears will be James Engledow, Wallace Owings, Aubrey Hughes, William Henderson, Rovert
Caviness and Eugene Scoville. Flower bearers will be Merle Caviness, Freeda Engledow, Edith Caviness
and Dorothy Scoville.
