My name is Lynda Raynae Dickerson I live in
Columbus, Ohio. I am oldest of three Siblings.

I Graduate from Linden
McKinley High and I
was involve with student
council, the drill team
and the Honor Society.
High School was great
and I met my friends
during this time. They
have remain my friends
even today.
Because of the faculty at
High School my life

I WORKED FOR THE OHIO ATTORNEY FOR 30
YEARS AND I DECIDED TO CHANGE CAREERS. I
HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WOULD PURSUE. I SPENT
A LOT OF TIME WORKING WITH THE YOUTH
DEPARTMENT IN MY CHURCH. I FELL IN LOVE
WORKING WITH THE SMALLER CHILDREN.
JUST DOING VOLUNTEER WORK OPEN MY EYES
TO A NEW FUTURE CAREER.

graduated in the area of
Early Childhood
Development…
Columbus State Community College

6. I work for Head Start as a Home Visitor.

7. Why I Teach?
7
 I became a preschool teacher to instruct children
under the age of five using creative methods such as
art, music, and hands on learning. Though much of
learning is centered around play, the primary
purpose of the educational program is to prepare
students for kindergarten.
 And to be a strong voice for these children.
 Being in the children’s presence is an
inspiration, and I also learn from them what the
world means to them at this age.

The rewards of becoming a preschool teacher is all I
thought it would be.
