Notas do Editor

  1. Vancouver is located in the Canadian province of British Columbia
  2. Work is underway to deliver on this challenge to be the Greenest city in the world by 2020. Today I would like to discuss how this challenge be an opportunity for the City and industry to form a new relationship and help each other make Vancouver an even better place to live, work, invest in, and visit. The presentation will focus on how Vancouver has addressed green building policy and programs in new construction and that positions us well to move forward on retro-fits in a meaningful way.
  3. Vancouver is located in the Canadian province of British Columbia
  4. Vancouver is located in the Canadian province of British Columbia
  5. The strategy is divided into three major buckets of activity, and in this presentation I will describe what these are, why they’re important, what we’re doing to address gaps and achieve successes, and how we will measure the outcomes. First, is focusing on expanding the City’s global brand on liveability and beauty to include a focus on the economy. Second, the plan focuses on supporting business growth and job creation, including global trade. Thirdly, there is a major focus on the retention and attraction of talent...competitiveness is increasingly reliant on the ability of our cities to retain and manage it skilled workforce.
  6. We have carefully integrated all VEC’s activities and objectives into the three major areas of focus. We have also established hundreds of performance measures at both the micro and macro levels that I will talk about in a few slides.
