LONGVIEW, Texas HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher Perry Law Firm (Sloan
Firm) Paralegal Lida Vega has been named Houston Association of Legal Professionals' (HALP)
Legal Professional of the Year.
Nominees for the award must meet the following criteria:
be a member in good standing with HALP, Texas Association of Legal Professionals (Texas ALP), and
the Association for Legal Professionals (NALS) for at least five years,
served in an elected or appointed office or as a committee chair or committee member,
completed legal education, including legal training courses and/or obtained certification,
have five years of legal experience and worked in the legal field within the past year under the direct
supervision of an attorney,
regularly attend education meetings within the past year.
Certified by NALS as a Professional Paralegal (PP) and Professional Legal Secretary (PLS), Vega has
been a member of Texas ALP for almost 10 years and joined HALP in 2011 when she moved to the
Houston area to support The Sloan Firm's expanded focus in the greater Houston area and southeast
Texas. Vega immediately became an active, dedicated, and reliable member, serving as Treasurer of
HALP, promoting the association's charitable endeavors, and serving as a spokesperson for HALP as
well as The Sloan Firm.

Vega is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She currently resides in The Champions
area of northwest Houston.
