This presentation will track the creation and evolution of an Intranet for migration from an ASP\HTML content management solution to SharePoint 2010 and finally a total migration and redesign using SharePoint 2013.Topics covered will be migration of static content into SharePoint, customization of the interface using Master pages, CSS and JQuery and development of custom menus and techniques for managing data. Use of social features and other ideas to increase employee engagement and an overview of 3rd party add-ons will be outlined.

- There should be shared resources, Search, Navigation, and others that are consistent Navigation structure should be shared including local and global systems Branding should share the “Brand” and be uniform. Marketing usually sets the standard and should be part of the Governance Structure Standards should be published and available to prevent conflicts and political pressure. A High Level champion should sign off on Governance and standards. Sometimes large departments may be separated to allow extra functionality and local control but still adhere to basic standards. Templates, CSS, code snippets and color pallets. The Intranet should not be just a billboard but provide resources to allow employees to do their job more efficiently
- Progressive changes, maintaining some familiar structure and content but adding features, functionality and personalization. Embedded video, Mega-Menus and a more modern look and feel.
