This weekly report discusses progress made on a touch switch circuit using the WB2080 touch pad detector IC. The IC offers 8 touch keys and has low power consumption. Experiments found interference using electronic wire but not shield wire. Figures 1 and 2 show the application and touch switch circuits. Strengths include the logic output, weaknesses include difficult soldering of the surface mount IC. Next week's task is to design a complete PCB.

Weekly Progress
This week we try to touch switch circuit by IC WB2080. The WB2080 is a touch pad detector IC
which offers 8 touch keys. The touching detection IC is designed for replacing traditional direct
button key with fixed pad size. Low power consumption and wide operating voltage are the contact
key features for DC or AC application.
From the experiment I found that the interference signal at the input of IC WB2080 circuit while
the wire is electronic wire. But, when I select shield wire use instead electronic wire, the
interference signal is found to be very low and the output are more stable.

Strong Point
The output of circuit has a Logic it’s easy to use with a microcontroller.
Week Point
WB2080 is surface mount. It’s difficult to solder.
