Breakfast with Sheryl Sandberg
o Sellout event with 500 VCs, entrepreneurs, and community members
o Sparked a follow-on survey on the pros and cons of fundraising for women, and
generated a highly discussed list of angel and venture-backed women
entrepreneurs
o Catalyst for a series of emerging initiatives around making Boston the best city for
women in tech

First Annual NEVY Awards
o 500 startup community members gathered for the inaugural NEVY Awards—
another sellout—that celebrated the big wins of the last year
o Deal of the Year, Exit of the Year, Rising Star Entrepreneur and other awards were
presented to both healthcare and technology leaders

Mayoral Survey and Event
o Partnered with BostInno to survey Boston’s mayoral candidates on issues
of importance to the startup community
o Co-hosted follow up event for 200 innovation community members with
John Connolly and Marty Walsh

Unpitch
o Co-hosted 70 founders and 30 of Boston’s top investors for the first-ever
Unpitch this December, in order to disrupt the model of pay-to-pitch
events
o Facilitated network-building for early stage entrepreneurs
o Received 375 applications from throughout the U.S. and Canada

Coffee Connect with a VC
o A program for early stage and first-time entrepreneurs, the Coffee
Connect series was led by Sravish Sridhar of Kinvey and Rob May of
Backupify
o These 7 sellout, myth-busting events tackled topics such as
“Bootstrapping vs. Fundraising” and featured guests such as Dave
Balter and Rich Levandov

Holiday Parties
o VC firms showcased office culture while providing the chance for investors
and entrepreneurs to connect
o Parties included Cinco de Mayo at Flybridge, Oktoberfest at Bessemer, and
a charity fundraising holiday party at Matrix

Campus Recruitment Guide & Internship Hub
o Published two rounds of our Campus Recruitment Guide, a one-stop resource
that offers startups relevant recruiting information on 14 Boston-area schools
o Partnered with BostInno to develop an Internship Hub for students to find paid
and unpaid internships in startups

Greenhorn Summit
o Sponsored Greenhorn Summit for the 2nd year in a row
o Brought together over 100 students from Boston-area schools for a day of
learning about startup career paths and networking with local startup leaders
14. Engaging Students
Boston Tech Treks
o Collaborating with Techmedia Club at Harvard Business School to put together a
series of “Tech Treks” designed to introduce students to some of the hottest
startups and VC firms in Boston and Cambridge.

o Hosted or co-hosted 27 events, interacting with over 3,000 VCs,
entrepreneurs, and community members in the Boston area.
o Collaborated with over 10 local organizations including hack/reduce,
MassTLC, MITX, MassChallenge, Crashpad, TUGG, The Capital Network, and
YouthCITIES.
o Added 1,000 Twitter followers for a total of 1,600.
o Sent 80 newsletters, invitations, or updates to our membership.
