 According to Forbes and Harvey Nash-
› 9% CIOs are female, (12% in 2010)
 Dept. of Commerce reports, “women
have seen no employment growth in
STEM jobs since 2000.”
 How 25% of tech positions- is this
accurate when highest percentage held
position of recruiter?
 Differences in gender communication:
› Men nod to agree, women nod to state the
other person is heard/understood.
› When a woman asks a question at the end
of a discussion, its often not because she
doesn’t know the answer, but she is
searching for consensus.
› Women often see topics connected that
men do not. Women are “data sorters”
where men often “pre-aggregate”, both
have positive and negative due to this.
 Identify Stereotypes and what is gender
bias?

discrimination?

considered a career in engineering.

school, when introduction should be
earlier.

science class sparked their interest in a
technology career path.
