Measurement In today’s ultra competitive business environment you need to be sharply conscious of what is happening on your business website Google Provides the prefect free tool to allow you measure website activity It needs to measure many different types of activity on your business website
Installation https://www.google.com/analytics Simply installed after head of website code Automatically sends data to a portal that can be accessed by you, your clients and interested parties Measures a wide range of data and information
Statistics and Information Gathered Site Usage Number of visits (unique) Pageviews – which pages people looked at Pages per visit – how many unique pages people visited Bounce Rate Traffic Source Overview Direct (typing in URL) Search (from main search engines) Referring Links (through links from other media) Bounce Rate – how long people stayed on site Average Time on site Number of new Visits
Where Visitors Come From and Go Map showing where your visitors come from Most popular pages and... What Keywords they are finding your site from the search engines.
Clicks v Page Views v Unique Page Views Clickscolumn in your reports indicates how many times your advertisements were clicked by visitors Visitsindicates the number of unique sessions initiated by your visitors Visitsrepresent the number of individual sessions initiated by all the visitors to your site. If a user is inactive on your site for 30 minutes or more, any future activity will be attributed to a new session. Users that leave your site and return within 30 minutes will be counted as part of the original session.7 A page view is defined as a view of a page on your site that is being tracked by the Analytics tracking code. If a visitor hits reload after reaching the page, this will be counted as an additional page view. If a user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, a second page view will be recorded as well.

Glossary Bounce Rate Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page Page View A page view is an instance of a page  being loaded by a browser. Google Analytics logs a page view each time that the tracking code is executed.
