2. The meaning of mental well being is based on your
mental state relating to how you feel on a day to day
basis. This can change daily, monthly or yearly.
4. Depression is “sadness or downswings in mood are
normal reactions to life’s struggles, setbacks, and
disappointments. Many people use the word
“depression” to explain these kinds of feelings, but
depression is much more than just sadness. Some
people describe depression as “living in a black hole”
or having a feeling of impending doom. However,
some depressed people don't feel sad at all—they may
feel lifeless, empty, and apathetic, or men in particular
may even feel angry, aggressive, and restless.” (Smith,
p.2)
5. Anxiety is a normal human emotion that everyone
experiences at times. Many people feel anxious, or
nervous, when faced with a problem at work, before
taking a test, or even making an important decision.
Anxiety Disorders, however, are different with every
person. They can cause such distress that it interferes
with a person's ability to lead a normal life and
perform simple tasks.

feel unusual feelings which leads a negative impact on
their mental health, physical well being along with
relationships and behavior problems. People with
bipolar disorder can have feelings of optimism to
having feelings of irritability and reckless behavior.
7. “Eating disorders are serious conditions related to
persistent eating behaviors that negatively impact your
health, your emotions and your ability to function in
important areas of life. The most common eating
disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and
binge-eating disorder.”(Mayo Clinic, p.1)

potential to be misused or abused by teens and adults,
like controlled and illegal drugs, prescription drugs,
alcohol and other substances that are harmful to your
body.

may help you express feelings you can’t put into words,
distract you from your life, or release emotional pain.
Afterwards, you probably feel better—at least for a
little while. But then the painful feelings return, and
you feel the urge to hurt yourself again. If you want to
stop but don’t know how, remember this: you deserve
to feel better, and you can get there without hurting
yourself.” (Segal, p.1)
