We have chosen this target audience when looking at similar
products and considering who would watch them.
Conveniently, we fit into the target audience of our film which
means that we know what to provide for them.

The secondary audience of males would be the boyfriends of girls going
see the film. Considering this, we will try and steer away from an extrem
chick flick and subtlety introduce humour that is also favoured by a male
audience.
4. Cinema statistics;
• 15-24 year olds make up 29% of cinema
audiences.
• 13% being girls of this age- this is
understandable as the majority of films have
a male protagonist and therefore appeal more
to boys.
• Comedy is the top grossing genre of film
from 1995 to 2012 taking 23.48% of the
market share
5. Using the Uses and Gratifications theory we can say that
our audience will seek; Entertainment and Personal
Identity .
Entertainment- our audience’s main aim is to relax and
enjoy themselves whilst watching the film hence the
genre of comedy.
Personal Identity- our audience can identify themselves
within the characters of our product in that they are
teenage girls which are going through/have been through
similar experiences. This makes the film more relatable
to the audience and makes them more likely to engage
with it.
