Call For An Intern
YFU Turkey is looking for an intern for 8-12 months!
General Information
YFU Turkey offers you an intercultural experience in Turkey. Being one of the youngest YFU
organizations, YFU Turkey has been working with interns through the European Voluntary
Service since 2008. Through the EVS program of European Commission, YFU Turkey has
hosted 10s of volunteers from different parts of the World, all from other YFU organizations.
This time, it might be your chance to come to Turkey in order to contribute to YFU and also
improve your knowledge and skills on a variety of topics. YFU office is based in Ankara, so
the intern will also be based in Ankara in the YFU Office. The intern will work with the office
staff and other volunteers for a variety of tasks, such as:
- helping the Office staff with the administrative work (files, students, etc..)
- having the chance of helping for improvement of the volunteer network of YFU
Turkey (building strategies to get new volunteers as well as retaining the existing
ones, using existing communication channels as well as working on the creation of
new ones, planning and conducting trainings based on the needs of volunteers, etc..)
- helping other volunteers to realize the colored glasses workshops in high schools
when needed
- operational support for YFU events (orientations, optional trips, volunteer meetings
and gatherings etc.)
- working in close cooperation with the inbound support volunteers
- helping the staff and volunteers for the promotion & selection process of inbound
and outbound programs
- provide regular input for social media (him/herself or through the other volunteers)
Personal qualifications
We are looking for experienced and open minded people, YFU exchange alumni, with the
following qualities:
• Preferably knowledge of YFU and International exchanges (Preferably experienced in
promotion events and orientation programs as well)
• Motivated and willing to work with young people
• Aged between 18 and 30
• Ready to work as a team member
• Eager to discover other cultures
• Ambitious to promote cultural diversity
• Able to communicate in English
• Flexible to do whatever is necessary on a short notice
• Flexible to travel in Turkey when needed
Financial & Practical Aspects
Round trip flight, accommodation, food and residence permit costs of the volunteer will be
100% covered by YFU Turkey. YFU intern will stay in a flat, nearby the Office, with the other
volunteers of YFU. The intern will receive allowance (250 TRY/month) every month and is
expected to cook for him/herself in the flat. Work related local travel expenses will also be
covered by YFU Turkey.
The intern needs to provide for his/her own insurance for the stay in Turkey.
Responsibilities of the intern
Within the frame of the task description given above, the intern will work for 35 hours a
week (between 09:30 till 18:00). The weekends are free and the intern has 2 days off for
each month during his/her stay. The intern should be flexible in terms of working
days/hours, as the work might require to work at the weekends and/or evenings from time
to time. The intern will receive free days/hours for extra working times.
Duration:
8-12 months. The intern is expected to start on October 2013 and leave on July 2014. The
exact start and end dates are flexible to be evaluated with the applicants.

Call for intern YFU Turkey

  • 1. Call For An Intern YFU Turkey is looking for an intern for 8-12 months! General Information YFU Turkey offers you an intercultural experience in Turkey.
