Week 3: Classroom 2040: Teaching Tools for a Digital Age
This week we will explore 21st century approaches to teaching and learning. Examples of future learning environments and instructional tools will support
the need for changes in teacher education programs to prepare future educators for a digital age.
Goals for week 3:
• To learn about trends in 21st century education
• To explore examples of future classroom models
• To review research on the changes needed to deliver the 21st century curriculum
• To explore collaborative writing tools
• Look at three technology tool categories which change teaching and learning
Outcomes for week 3
• Read educators visions for 21st century classrooms
• Look at examples of digital project based schools
• Learn about the characteristics of future students, classrooms and teaching styles
• We will explore wiki's an online communication and collaboration resource
• We will explore google cloud computing another collaboration and document development resource
