●56 year old man w PMH of HTN, COPD,
cholecystectomy comes in bright red blood per
rectum for the past 5 hours associated with
dizziness, palpitations, and sweating.

●VS: BP 157/85 HR 104 RR 20 Temp 98.6 O2 sat
97% RA

●PE: Unremarkable except for generalized
abdominal pain, tachycardia, and BRBPR

● List common causes of LGIB

Causes of LGIB

● Diverticular disease
● Angiodysplasia

● Colitis

IBD, ischemia, infectious, radiation
● Postpolypectomy bleeding

● Anorectal disease

Hemorrhoids, rectal varices, fissures
● Small bowel bleeding
