2. The downhill
The official story is that the MTB has its
origins in the late 70s, in the foothills of
Mount Tamalpais, California, United
States. A group of fans friends
motorcycles, roamed these hills, each
competing in downhill races against the
clock. Soon it was banned circulation of
these vehicles, because of pollution and
erosion caused by the environment.
However these "crazy" of two wheels, they
managed to continue their move, but now
declines made them standard road bikes,
then uploading them on truck. In this way
faults are produced in these rudimentary
motorized bicycles and also aid was still
harmful to the environment. Gradually
they were experimenting with different
types of machines, equipping them with
pieces of motorcycles or their
manufacture themselves to a more
resistant ground conditions bike also
many enthusiasts of that time considered
unacceptable the idea of climbing in truck
and preferred to do by their own means.
Gary Fisher was one of the pioneers of this
idea, so he managed to adapt to your bike
gear that allowed him to climb those hills
pedaling. Thus a total independence of
polluting and noisy machines, being able
to practice their sport in peace by those
hills of California was achieved.
4. FUNCTION OF EACH PART
Suspensions : The main function of absorbing the irregularities of
the land on which it moves
Tensor : The role of a tensor is like his name says give to a belt
tensor that this is not out of place also prevent other bar pulley
Brakes : The bicycle brake is a system to stop , reduce or maintain
with no increase , the speed of a bicycle.
giro
6. CrossCountry
CrossContry: Usual form of mountain biking . The
front suspension bikes usually wear only, but also
begin to use rear suspensions . This test is to give a
certain number of laps on a circuit whose length is
usually between 8 and 11 kilometers .

longer tests 150-200 km ( Salzkammergut [1 ] ) . It is usually used the
same type of bike in cross country, though somewhat more robust , as
the reliability and comfort are vital in such long races. Also they
included in this modality stage races such as the Trans Alp, the
Transrockies , the route of the conquistadors, etc. This approach has
gained wide popularity in recent times, for their competitions both
professionals and amateurs are usually open
8. All montain
All montain: This mode ( not competitive ) attempts to
provide aggressive drivers with extensive bike routes (
150mm to 160mm ) in suspensions , but keeps bikes at
low weights and with designs that allow easy pedaling ,
especially on slopes . These bikes are designed for long
recreational trips.
9. Dirt jump
DirtJump: This mode (competitive and recreational) is
characterized by small , light and very resistant bicycle
built for recreational diving , where the driver must be
very experienced and agile. In it, the cyclists are
measured by performing jumps and tricks on dirt
ramps
10. Freeride
Freeride :This mode (recreational ) is characterized by
bicycles with less emphasis on weight and higher in
the suspension travel , without being so robust ,
heavy or bicycle tours as Descent ( competitive ) .
These bikes allow pedaling on the rise, but they are
not built for long distances.
11. Slalom
Slalom : Drop -like mode in which you compete in a
downhill track with flags and ski -style doors .
