  1. I want to address the proper recycling of electronic waste, better known as e-waste E-waste is comprised of computers, printers, servers, cell phones, monitors, laptops etc. Possitivity has been providing e-waste recycling services since January 2009, however Possitivity has been providing business solutions for 34 years. Our approach and business solution to e-waste is simple, direct and transparent.
  2. We have become a technological society. What do we do with our electronic gadgets when they have served their useful purpose? What happens to them, do you toss them, resale them, donate? Items going into the landfill do not change. Fifty years from now they will still be a corroded computer or other item. And they could be leaching harmful toxins into our groundwater etc. Approximately 19 states have some type of legislation regarding e-waste. I say approximately because this is now changing at a more rapid rate. State are concerned as they well should be regarding e-waste disposal. Ohio has a draft out there, but nothing has happened yet and nothing is expected until after the next gubernatorial election.

  9. 1. What is there to add. 2. The numbers speak for themselves.
  10. Ask your vendor, what are you doing with it? Where do you send it? I suggest doing this in person, not over the phone? Can you visit them? Will they place commitments in writing, provide indemnity and just plain be transparent?
  11. Possitivity will answer these and is transparent in our recycling efforts
  12. A key to making the right decision on how to recycle your e-waste has several points to be considered Do you want/need asset management. If so there are several reputable firms who will handle these type of issues? Another choice is just getting it out of your facility in a timely and cost saving method.. Often those charges are not clear? Can they tell you what the charges will be ahead of pick-up? Is it based on weight? If so how do you know the weight and when will you know? After it has been shipped to their facility? Some companies have explicit charges, and you know exactly what your cost will be? Does your recycler offer a certification by serial number and or item? Just for hard drives or for all items?
  13. Recyclers are no different than other businesses, you just need to vet the ones you choose to utilize? You company’s integrity is on the line? There are many reputable recyclers and processors in the business communities. Some would say “certifications such as BAN or other are needed”. Those certifications are extremely expensive and not always any more fool proof than just doing good hard work and research in dealing with a reputable business.
