Boy is lying down on the bed. Camera is on
the ceiling, looking directly down at the bed.
Camera slowly pans closer to the boy’s face
with him looking straight at the camera.
Camera is on the ground, below the
staircase, focusing on the boy’s school bag,
until boy picks up his bag and leaves the
house.
CU of boy’s face walking down the street,
panning down from his head to his bag, then
back up to his head. MS of boy crossing the
road and walking up to the school. Short shot
of the floor next to the boy’s shoes, shot then
stays still while the boy enters the school
building, camera pans up slightly to allow for
title credits.
Title screen ‘Hellion’ rolls (graphic on-screen).
MS of boy in class sitting at his desk. Hand
resting on his face. Boy exits classroom,
camera will need to be in position in front of
the door so when they boy opens the door it
can cut to black to relocate the next scene
and cut out the walking sequences.
Boy goes to the bathroom. WS from the
window outside the bathroom, camera
looking in on the bathroom while he is looking
in the mirror and talking apparently to himself.
Jay notices him, stares for a while then
leaves the scene.
MS of boy leaving the school entrance and
Diagetic – Morning noises, i.e. birds chirping,
wind against bedroom window etc.
Boy saying goodbye to his mother.
Diagetic – Cars passing by and other kids
talking, background noise.
Non diagetic – music will play in the
background for the duration of the title credits.
Diagetic – teacher speaking, lots of
background noise.
Thomas: “Sir, may I be excused?” Teacher:
“Yes you may.”
Diagetic – footsteps from outside the bathroom.
Nothing can be heard from inside the

PRODUCTION SCRIPT
CU of boy’s door, him then opening it and
running inside. Rushes past his mom then enters
his bedroom and jumps in his bed. CU of the
boy’s face, upset.
Cuts to next morning. CU of boy rushing into the
school gates, enters reception and signs in. OTS
shot of boy noticing the memorial with Adrian’s
face on it. CU of his face while he’s walking
down the corridor.
MS of boy walking out of school after the bell has
rang. OTS shot of the boy noticing the group of
people that were there with Adrian previously,
CU of Jay’s face and Thomas’s face. They
glance at each other and Thomas walks away.
WS, Jay catches up with Thomas and they stop
and talk. CU of both their faces. MS when
Thomas walks away.
WS of boy walking down the street and then
entering a graveyard. MS of him standing next to
Voice: Hard day today? Laughing
Thomas: “I wish that guy was dead.”
Thomas: “Excuse me; what’s that memorial
there for?”
Receptionist: “It’s for Adrian. He died
yesterday? Did you not go to the assembly?”
Thomas: “N- no? I must’ve missed it, sorry.
Thank you.
Diagetic – Bell ringing, lots of background
noise, footsteps.
Jay: “Tom, I’m sorry for being a douche, I was
just following what Adrian and everyone else
was doing…
Thomas: “You think I’m just going to forgive
you? Just because Adrian is dead doesn’t
mean you can throw him under the bus and
use him as an excuse.”
Jay: “ What? I’m just trying to apologise. Can’t
you see that?”
Thomas: “I know, I’m just… forget it.”
Voice: “You did the right thing. He’s not worth
our time.”
Diagetic – leaves crunching underneath the
boy when walking, very windy.
VIDEO AUDIO

PRODUCTION SCRIPT
CU of Thomas entering his house. MS he greets
his mom.
OTS from POV of mom hugging him. Thomas
walks upstairs; camera follows his bag CU.
Cut to the same shot as beginning of the film
with the camera on the ceiling going towards the
boy lying on his bed. CU of boy with his head on
his pillow lying on his right side.
Thomas gets up and throws chair.
Voice: “Well when people threaten you, they
get what they deserve. Maybe if you stood up
for yourself more, this guy would be alive.”
Thomas: “He was a drunk, but he didn’t
deserve to die.”
Voice: You did this. Not me. I merely…
encouraged you to do it. Lets go home.
Mom: “Hello Thomas, how was school?”
Thomas: “Someone died today mom. I think I’m
gonna go to bed for a little while.”
Mom: “Oh my god, are you okay? Hugs him.
How are you?
Thomas: “Me? I- I’m fine mom. Love you.”
Mom: “If you need anything, you will let me
know won’t you?”
Thomas: “Yes. I promise.”
Thomas: “Did you do this?”
Voice: “Me? Oh please, I haven’t done
anything. You’re the one who’s done it all. Even
your dad, as much as you deny it, was your
murder, not mine.”
Thomas: “NO! I didn’t mean it! Grrr! Throws
chair. I wish you weren’t in my head! I wish
you never existed!”
Voice: “You know I can never leave.”
Thomas: “I wish you would just die!”

Production script

  • 1. Boy is lying down on the bed. Camera is on the ceiling, looking directly down at the bed. Camera slowly pans closer to the boy’s face with him looking straight at the camera. Camera is on the ground, below the staircase, focusing on the boy’s school bag, until boy picks up his bag and leaves the house. CU of boy’s face walking down the street, panning down from his head to his bag, then back up to his head. MS of boy crossing the road and walking up to the school. Short shot of the floor next to the boy’s shoes, shot then stays still while the boy enters the school building, camera pans up slightly to allow for title credits. Title screen ‘Hellion’ rolls (graphic on-screen). MS of boy in class sitting at his desk. Hand resting on his face. Boy exits classroom, camera will need to be in position in front of the door so when they boy opens the door it can cut to black to relocate the next scene and cut out the walking sequences. Boy goes to the bathroom. WS from the window outside the bathroom, camera looking in on the bathroom while he is looking in the mirror and talking apparently to himself. Jay notices him, stares for a while then leaves the scene. MS of boy leaving the school entrance and Diagetic – Morning noises, i.e. birds chirping, wind against bedroom window etc. Boy saying goodbye to his mother. Diagetic – Cars passing by and other kids talking, background noise. Non diagetic – music will play in the background for the duration of the title credits. Diagetic – teacher speaking, lots of background noise. Thomas: “Sir, may I be excused?” Teacher: “Yes you may.” Diagetic – footsteps from outside the bathroom. Nothing can be heard from inside the VIDEO AUDIO Working Title: Hellion Date: 13/11/15 PRODUCTION SCRIPT CU of boy’s door, him then opening it and running inside. Rushes past his mom then enters his bedroom and jumps in his bed. CU of the boy’s face, upset. Cuts to next morning. CU of boy rushing into the school gates, enters reception and signs in. OTS shot of boy noticing the memorial with Adrian’s face on it. CU of his face while he’s walking down the corridor. MS of boy walking out of school after the bell has rang. OTS shot of the boy noticing the group of people that were there with Adrian previously, CU of Jay’s face and Thomas’s face. They glance at each other and Thomas walks away. WS, Jay catches up with Thomas and they stop and talk. CU of both their faces. MS when Thomas walks away. WS of boy walking down the street and then entering a graveyard. MS of him standing next to Voice: Hard day today? Laughing Thomas: “I wish that guy was dead.” Thomas: “Excuse me; what’s that memorial there for?” Receptionist: “It’s for Adrian. He died yesterday? Did you not go to the assembly?” Thomas: “N- no? I must’ve missed it, sorry. Thank you. Diagetic – Bell ringing, lots of background noise, footsteps. Jay: “Tom, I’m sorry for being a douche, I was just following what Adrian and everyone else was doing… Thomas: “You think I’m just going to forgive you? Just because Adrian is dead doesn’t mean you can throw him under the bus and use him as an excuse.” Jay: “ What? I’m just trying to apologise. Can’t you see that?” Thomas: “I know, I’m just… forget it.” Voice: “You did the right thing. He’s not worth our time.” Diagetic – leaves crunching underneath the boy when walking, very windy. VIDEO AUDIO Working Title: Hellion Date: 13/11/15 PRODUCTION SCRIPT CU of Thomas entering his house. MS he greets his mom. OTS from POV of mom hugging him. Thomas walks upstairs; camera follows his bag CU. Cut to the same shot as beginning of the film with the camera on the ceiling going towards the boy lying on his bed. CU of boy with his head on his pillow lying on his right side. Thomas gets up and throws chair. Voice: “Well when people threaten you, they get what they deserve. Maybe if you stood up for yourself more, this guy would be alive.” Thomas: “He was a drunk, but he didn’t deserve to die.” Voice: You did this. Not me. I merely… encouraged you to do it. Lets go home. Mom: “Hello Thomas, how was school?” Thomas: “Someone died today mom. I think I’m gonna go to bed for a little while.” Mom: “Oh my god, are you okay? Hugs him. How are you? Thomas: “Me? I- I’m fine mom. Love you.” Mom: “If you need anything, you will let me know won’t you?” Thomas: “Yes. I promise.” Thomas: “Did you do this?” Voice: “Me? Oh please, I haven’t done anything. You’re the one who’s done it all. Even your dad, as much as you deny it, was your murder, not mine.” Thomas: “NO! I didn’t mean it! Grrr! Throws chair. I wish you weren’t in my head!
