Als eine der sechs Institutionen im ETH-Bereich liegt unser Schwerpunkt klar im Bereich der Materialwissenschaften.
Es ist unser Ziel Forschung auf international kompetitivem Niveau zu betreiben und innvoative Entwicklungen zu erarbeiten, die eine industrielle Anwendung finden. Weiterhin werden auch die Dienstleistungen für die Industrie, Private und die öffenliche Hand ihre Bedeutung haben.
Thematisch stehen Mobilität, Bau- und Ingenieurwesen, Kommunikation, Gesundheit und Energie im Vordergrund.
Dabei ist es selbstverständlich, dass all unsere Arbeiten den Kriterien der Nachhaltigkeit zu genügen haben.
Die CFK-Arbeiten, die viele Jahre vor der Entstehung dieser Folie gestartet wurden, erfüllen die hier aufgelisteten Kriterien in exemplarischer Weise und ich bin überzeugt, dass die folgenden Referate auch Ihnen diesen Eindruck vermitteln werden.
Erfolgreiche Forschung basiert immer auf einer hohen persönlichen Motivation der dahinter stehenden Personen.
