2. Mobile-TV-compatible phones function
much like television receivers. Analog and
satellite TV signals are transmitted over a
cellular network. Some newer and older
phone models with built-in TV
tuners, enable you to watch local and
mobile TV broadcasts from all over the
world. Notable among these are industry
leaders in mobile phones Verizon
Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, T-
Mobile, AllTel, and ESPN Mobile. They
provide news, sports, weather, classical
and current TV shows for their customers
through 3G and 4G cellular networks.
3. Mobile TV Software
Cellular phones with mobile TV enable you to
watch popular TV channels while you're in
transit. Sports enthusiasts can view TV shows
like
NFL, MLB, NBA, Boxing, Racing, NHL, Golf, CFL,
UFC, WWE, and Tennis. You can also watch
television channels that are only available on
cable and satellite. For example, Mobile TV
Elite, Mobile TV Center, and Mobile Online TVx
are software applications that allow you to
watch thousands of live TV channels on your
mobile phone. Some mobile TV services don't
require you to pay for a subscription, or pay-
per-view costs. However, you may need to pay
a one-time fee before you can install the
mobile TV software on your phone.
4. HTC EVO 4G Mobile TV Phone
The HTC Evo 4G is one of the latest mobile TV
phones on the market today. It was released in
June 2010, and is America's first 4G phone with
a 4.3-inch display screen. The mobile phone
features include a custom Web browser that's
optimized for the display screen and Sprint's
4G cellular network speeds. Mobile TV is
available through Sprint TV. You can watch
high-quality videos and live TV broadcasts on
the mobile phone.
5. Samsung Eternity Satellite Mobile TV Phone
In November 2008, the Samsung Eternity came
out. The satellite phone comes bundled with
mobile TV. The features include a touch screen
and 3G broadband Web browsing. You can
stream TV broadcasts from popular
networks, such as CBS Mobile, CNBC, FOX
News, NBC 2Go, MSNBC, ESPN Mobile
TV, MTV, and CNN Mobile. Customers
automatically get to use mobile TV for 30 days
before they are required to pay for it.
6. Nokia N92 Mobile TV Phone
The Nokia N92 was released in March 2006. The
mobile TV phone has a view mode that's
designed for watching TV and videos. You can
instantly start watching mobile TV by opening
the phone in view mode, and pressing the
Multimedia key. You will see the Electronic
Service Guide (ESG) that contains information
about TV channels, programs and services
that's currently available. Other features include
up to four hours of recording time and 30
seconds of replay.
7. Toshiba V401T Analog Mobile TV Phone
Older mobile phone models like the Toshiba
V401T, released in April 2004, allowed users to
watch analog television on the phone. Besides
basic callings features, the phone had a built-in
analog TV tuner that enabled you to watch
television shows and FM radio*2 broadcasts.
When the phone was in TV mode, you could
still receive calls or e-mail messages. The TV
antenna was capable of receiving analog
television broadcasts, and you could also record
about twelve minutes of TV programming.
