Curriculum 2.0 - A 21st century literacy curriculum

Months ago, Justin and I asked, why can’t the way we learn with technology agree with the way we live with it? Presented in Shanghai ISTE has since re-vamped their’s as well.

  8. Today’s kids may be fluent with using the tools but not don’t really understand Audience The power of different mediums The power at their finger tips How to collaborate How communicate How to learn in this new age - HAVE TO BE TAUGHT

  10. We should answer the same UBD quality standards of good curricular design.
  11. Appropriate for this conference! Think of the tech skills that we focused on only a few years ago – where do they fit on this? What are the Enduring Understandings we want for our kids? Less about how to do things and more about how to think. Learn and Unlearn.
  12. So we asked ourselves this question

  20. So how to affect change at your schools? We started with two concerned Tech Facilitators Then presented. Team in China has picked it up from here. Then shared with more invested people like our 21st Cent. Learning Specialist and our curriculum office and our teacher-librarians At stage 2 we refined. Leadership has trust and buy-in – two different things.

  23. In 2007, ISTE – International Society for Technology in Education – released a reworking of their standards for students This year they released teacher standards – they are currently working on the Nets for Administrators (NETS = National Educational Technology Standards)
  24. Similar framework to ours. We have now adopted their wording to fit under our main headlines.
  25. ISB now looking at this framework as bigger than tech and more about what a learner needs Our new team ISB21 focuses on creating a curriculum and support for this model. This came from presenting to L.T., building understanding and developing shared vision and value in these ideas
