communicate with friends through
private or public messages, a chat
feature, create and join interest groups,
and “like” pages.
ASHA uses Facebook to drive
traffic to ASHA content and
foster engagement with
members and the public around
issues relevant to the
professions we represent. We
also have an Inside Workplace
Wellness page to share
information with staff and their
families.

updates, join groups that will help
you learn or engage with others.

An online social networking and micro

140 characters. People use Twitter to

ASHA’s LinkedIn Group used to
be a members-only resource;
the group is now public. ASHA
doesn’t actively monitor the
group. We promote some
products and services from the
ASHA Linkedin profile.
A virtual rolodex where each contact
you connect with keeps his/her own
information current. LinkedIn can be
used to build a professional network,
post and find jobs, answer questions
and to connect with a targeted

ASHA’s blog is used to enhance
effectiveness across professions
and settings, increase active
involvement of members, and
improve external
communication.

professional focus or blogs that will
help you achieve a learning goal.

Pinterest
A virtual pin board that allows users
toorganize and share things you find
on the web. The pin boards can be
used for planning and organizational
purposes. Users are also able to
browse pin boards created by others.
ASHA is using Pinterest to share
ASHA resources as well as find
and share resources being
shared by CSD students and
professionals. We also use
Pinterest to recruit posting
vacancies to the Job Opps
@ASHA board.
All of the resources used during
Innovation Day were compiled on

created for conferences or meetings
you will be attending, and pins from
other people with similar interests.

photos. You snap a picture, choose a
filter to transform its look and post it.

Follow businesses and brands you

offerings. Employers are using

ASHA’s blog is used to enhance effectiveness across professions and settings, increase active involvement of members, and improve external communication. Follow blogs related to your professional focus or blogs that will help you achieve a learning goal. Use a RSS Reader Subscribe to email updates Pinterest A virtual pin board that allows users toorganize and share things you find on the web. The pin boards can be used for planning and organizational purposes. Users are also able to browse pin boards created by others. ASHA is using Pinterest to share ASHA resources as well as find and share resources being shared by CSD students and professionals. We also use Pinterest to recruit posting vacancies to the Job Opps @ASHA board. All of the resources used during Innovation Day were compiled on Pinterest(pinterest.com/inworkwell/) . You can follow publications, boards created for conferences or meetings you will be attending, and pins from other people with similar interests. Pin = share an image with a link Board = pins organized around a topic Repinning = sharing what someone else pinned There are Pinterest apps for iPhone, iPad and droid Instagram An app that allows users to share photos. You snap a picture, choose a filter to transform its look and post it. You can share it to Facebook, Twitter etc. The ASHA Leader is conducting a photo contest with Instagram, A Week In the Life of the Professions, to showcase our members helping people communicate. #ashaigers Follow businesses and brands you like to learn about new product offerings. Employers are using Instagram for branding and recruitment. # = hashtag, used to categorize tweets by topic like #ashaigers or #ashastaff @+username to tag another user in a photo There are Instagram apps for iPhone and droid. You can also use webstagram.com as a viewer. Vine Create six-second looping videos to share on Twitter and Facebook. Think of it like Instagram, except with videos instead of pictures.
