1. Jay McBain is an accomplished speaker, author and innovator in the IT
industry. Named one of the Top 25 Newsmakers by CDN Magazine, Top 100

well as Top 250 Managed Services Executives in the global MSPmentor list, he
is often sought out for keynotes, industry guidance, as well as business

As a futurist, and long standing member of the World Future Society, Jay is an
expert in Pervasive Computing which is the study of future computing models
and the resulting impact on society, as well as Managed Services, Voice over
IP and Cloud Computing.

Jay has spent his career in sales leadership, marketing, strategy and business development positions
within Autotask, Lenovo and IBM. He is currently Senior Vice-President Strategy and Market
Development for Autotask, responsible for defining and executing global growth initiatives within the
Corporation.
Jay previously led the Enterprise (Fortune 500), Public Sector, Small and Medium as well as the
Consumer businesses for Lenovo and IBM. With a blend of community outreach, social media and
innovative marketing, the SMB division of Lenovo grew by 50% in market share under his leadership.
Previously, IBM Canada enjoyed a #1 ranking in Consumer and SMB market share of all countries
world-wide in sales during his tenure. Jay has lived in Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Raleigh, NC, and
now Albany NY.
Jay won the prestigious IBM Golden Circle Award as well as the National Top Sales Contributor Award
three times and was named to IBM’s 100 Per Cent Club eleven consecutive times.
An avid blogger, community and social media expert, Jay has developed an innovative “dandelion
marketing” community approach to the market delivering unique content and messaging.
Jay actively gives back to the community in which he works and lives and has throughout his career
been involved in the United Way, the Lenovo Employee Charitable Fund, Models for Charity and a
member of the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement.
