The BSE benchmark Sensex today
bounced back by nearly 180 points to
close at 20,103.53 on heavy buying in
interest-sensitive stocks ahead of RBI
credit policy on Tuesday and encouraging
earnings by Maruti Suzuki.

After a better start, the Sensex spurted by
179.75 points, or 0.90 per cent to end at
20,103.53 helped by rise in Tata Motors,
Maruti Suzuki, SBI, L&T and HDFC
Bank shares.

The broad-based National Stock Exchange
index Nifty rose by 55.30 points, or 0.92
per cent to close at 6,074.65.

Rate-sensitive sectors like real estate,
auto, consumer durables, capital goods
and banks saw good buying on hopes the
central bank will cut rates by at least 0.25
per cent on January 29 to boost economic
growth.
Outlook for the day
Investors also took advantage of buying stocks
following the previous day's plunge when Sensex
fell by 103 points INDICES LTP Change % Change

The recovery indicates a positive indicator and if 6074.65 55.30 0.92%
Nifty sustains above 6,080 level in coming SENSEX
sessions, another new high is quite likely. Overall 20103.53 179.75 0.90%
trend continues to be bullish till Nifty trades CNX
above 5,950 level. Positive global cues, Liquidity 3663.85 45.80 1.27%
SMALLCAP
and a probable rate cuts along with Q3 results
are key factors which shall be driving the near CNXMIDCAP 8374.45 168.50 2.05%
term trend. Technically, 6,080 level is crucial
BANKNIFTY 12693.25 131.85 1.05%
deciding level in near term, and index is likely to
witness further rally above this level. In coming
sessions, below 6,050, likely support levels are
6,020-5,950, while above 6,075, likely target is
6,100-6,150.

The option data suggests that the market participants are currently
visualizing the 6200 mark on the higher side. Very high CALL writing at
6200 Strike price will stop market to move beyond 6200 mark. On the other
side we can see equal PUT writings on 5900 to 5800 strike price. This
indicates that NIFTY down move would be restricted below 5800 mark. Last
session’s option data indicated that NIFTY can have a range of 5900 and
6200 in near term.
