Rules for Marking Text:   #1  Read paragraph BEFORE marking. Select most important info one paragraph at a time. Requires reading & thinking Make conscious effort to determine important info Don’t mark because it looks important Is it important or extras?
Rules for Marking Text:  #2A 2) Select key words & phrases to mark I.D. key words & ideas in paragraph Sometimes key sentences too Do NOT over mark – becomes ineffective Purpose:  Help review for tests or quick reference Become to study notes Use “?” to mark questionable comments Place “*” for important info
