from the dead. Acts 17.
2. Firm persuasion; full confidence or trust; freedom from doubt; certain
expectation; the utmost certainty.
Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith. Heb 10.
9. In theology, full confidence of one's interest in Christ, and of final
salvation.
3. More Assurance in 2014
We can be Assured of the…
1. Love of God
2. Our Faith
3. Our Salvation
Come GROW with us!
4. The Love of God
1Jn 4:7-9 NKJV Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of
God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (8)
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (9) In
this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His
only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
Rom 5:8-9 NKJV But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in
that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Much more
then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through Him.
5. The Love of God
Joh 3:16-17 NKJV For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life. (17) For God did not send His Son into
the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved.
2Co 9:15 NKJV Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
1Pe 5:5-7 NKJV Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves
to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be
clothed with humility, for "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT
GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." (6) Therefore humble
yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in
due time, (7) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
6. The Love of God
Rom 8:32-39 NKJV He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered
Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all
things? (33) Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God
who justifies. (34) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and
furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also
makes intercession for us. (35) Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written: "FOR YOUR SAKE
WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS
SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER." (37) Yet in all these things we are
more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (38) For I am
persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor
powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor
depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the
love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
7. Act 2:36-38 NKJV "Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both
Lord and Christ." (37) Now when they heard this, they were cut to
the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and
brethren, what shall we do?" (38) Then Peter said to them, "Repent,
and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2Ti 1:12-13 NKJV For this reason I also suffer these things;
nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to
Him until that Day. (13) Hold fast the pattern of sound words which
you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
8. Heb 11:1 ESV Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the
conviction of things not seen.
Assurance – hupostasis, lit. a “sitting under”
Question: Would you sit under something that you were not sure
about?
9. Heb 10:19-25 NKJV Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the
Holiest by the blood of Jesus, (20) by a new and living way which He
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, (21) and having
a High Priest over the house of God, (22) let us draw near with a true
heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us
hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who
promised is faithful. (24) And let us consider one another in order to
stir up love and good works, (25) not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one
another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
10. Salvation
Act 17:30-31 NKJV Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked,
but now commands all men everywhere to repent, (31) because He has
appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by
the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by
raising Him from the dead."
Heb 9:27-28 NKJV And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after
this the judgment, (28) so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of
many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time,
apart from sin, for salvation.
11. Salvation
1Jn 5:13 NKJV These things I have written to you who believe in the
name of the Son of God, that you may know [RAS] that you have eternal
life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
