2. PART I
• 1) Choose an object. Examine it. Draw it with
pencil lines only somewhere on your page. Play
with scale- make it smaller or larger than real life.
• 2) Now draw it from a different angle. Change the
size. Consider where you place it on the page.
• 3) Repeat this with 4 more objects.
– Overlap objects.
– Consider the NEGATIVE SPACE
– CONSIDER the balance of your composition.
3. PART II
4) Check in with me about your piece.
5) Now on the back, write a sentence about each
object.
6) With pen and ink, make 5 different patterns on a
strip of paper.
7) Now with pen and ink, start by drawing over your
contour drawings.
8) Now start to fill in your NEGATIVE space with
words and patterns. Consider balance and
variety.
