e-news january 2011
Snow is a poem. A poem that falls from the clouds in
delicate white flakes. […] It has a name. A name of
dazzling whiteness. Snow.
Maxence Fermine
In Italy, winter is a flutter. To the excitement of
skiers and romantics alike, the snow falls serene
and immaculate; a sheer white blanket covering the
Alps and hillside. How can interiors share in this
mystique while keeping the frost outside?
la murrina moulds its own wonderland, also for those near
the equator who’ve always dreamt of snow, from an
enchanting chandelier of its New Classic collection and a
silhouette figurine.
The chandelier is the acclaimed Medusa in white, emulating
a glistening snowflake. It is taken a step further as
Medusa Swarovski, drops of translucent crystal multiplying
beams of light, transforming the lamp into a true icicle prism.
Below, Orso coalesces the pristine flurry into an endearing
ice statuette.
No two snowflakes being the same, each piece of Medusa
and Orso are unique and irreplaceable. Individually
handcrafted by the glass maestros of Murano, all la murrina
products are scrupulously made in Italy.
If instead you are longing for warmer weather or basking in
the bright rays of summer, fear not. The red Medusa is
reminiscent of a solar star, radiating the center of homes
as well as public spaces.
