Massive cabbage weighs in at state fair
By Levi Kaus
Palmer, AK- Man shatters world record with a cabbage at the state fair Sept. 2nd.
Scott Robb wrecked the world record with a massive 138.25-pound cabbage this
weekend at the state fair weigh-in. This beat the previous record by a whopping 11
pounds, which was set by Steve Hubacek in 2009. Hubacek came back this year and
placed second with his 126 pounder. “I was a little surprised at how big it got considering
all the rain and cold we’ve been getting all year,” said Scott Robb.
2. For all the Alaskan gardeners who think the short growing season limits us: perseverance
is best. If you’re from Tok, try going to the state fair next year with your most monstrous
vegetable. You may set a new world record.
