The main purpose of this study was to assess the Self Concept among Intermediate students of A.P. Model Schools. In this study, Normative Survey Method was adopted. The participants of the study were 200 Intermediate II year students of ten A.P. Model Schools , Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India in 2014-2015 session. The researchers used Self Concept checklist developed by N. Venkataramana (1976). Its validity and reliability has been well established. Data was analyzed using Descriptive Statistics and Differential Analysis (t-test). The findings revealed that the subgroups of Intermediate students did not show any significant difference in the five dimensions of Self Concept. Among the five dimensions, the first three are negative dimensions and last two are positive dimensions. A negative relationship was found between the first three dimensions and subgroups where as a positive relationship was found between the last two dimensions and subgroups. Based on the findings, suggestions were made that same study may be extended to A.P. Model Schools of 13 Districts of Andhra Pradesh, other Junior colleges, Degree colleges, PG colleges, Engineering and Medical colleges etc. Different other variables like management, locality, birth order, caste, educational status of father, educational status of mother, size of family etc. can be included.

The consequences of overconfidence affect many spheres of economic life. As yet, few factors are known that determine the extent of possible overconfidence. There are also few studies concerning the influence of positive and negative emotions on self-assessment. It has not yet been examined whether emotions can affect learning effects regarding self-assessment, wherefore the present study addresses this research question. In a real-effort-task experiment the participants are presented with tasks over the course of 5 rounds. After each round, they are asked to assess their own performance. They are then given feedback on their actual performance, thereby allowing for learning effects. Their mood is induced by positive (treatment ―positive‖), negative (treatment ―negative‖) and neutral (treatment ―neutral‖) movie clips. There are no significant differences in the three treatments regarding absolute and relative overconfidence. However, the participants’ moods differed with regard to the occurr ence of learning effects. Obvious learning effects can be established in a neutral mood when examining absolute overconfidence. These learning effects cannot be detected in positive and negative moods

According to Berger (2014), Reinforcement is a stimulus or event that increases the frequency of response it follows. To increase the frequency of the desired behavior, positive or negative reinforcement must be used. Positive reinforcement works by establishing a motivating stimulus after the desired behavioral response. For example, when a child completes their homework and receives a reward like candy. Negative reinforcement is when a particular stimulus is removed when a particular behavior is displayed. By removing a negative stimulus, it is less likely to occur again. What are the inclusion characteristics, i.e., what must they have in order to be included in your study (for example, gender, diagnosis, age, personality traits, etc.)? Are there any exclusion characteristics, i.e. are there certain characteristics that would exclude them from being in your study? Does the sample need to be diverse? Why or why not? For this study I think I would use about 200 students from 4 different schools in the same general area. I would get 25 students from each school, my inclusion characteristics would be female and male students ages 10-20, different social groups, grades levels, and those who have had an alcoholic drink. Some Exclusion characteristics would be kids who are too old, homeschooled, or have never had a drink. The sample for this study needs to be diverse because I don’t believe one could get an accurate reading and or estimation of which students are under the influence and which aren’t without a large population of samples. The samples do not need to be completely diverse however because I am still looking for a certain type of person in a limited group. 4. What sampling technique will be used to collect your sample? What population does your sample generalize to? The sampling technique which will be used to collect my sample isconvenience sampling. Convenience sampling is a non-probability statistical method of drawingrepresentativedata by selecting people because of the ease of their volunteering or selecting units because of their availability or easy access. Convenience sampling is limited when generalizing. Since the sample is not representative of the population, the results of the study cannot speak for the entire population. This results to a low external validity of the study. 5. What are the variables in your study? The two variables in my study are peer pressure and underage drinking. 6. Provide operational definitions for each variable. Peer pressure is the influence you feel from a person or group of people to do something you might not otherwise consider doing. Peer pressure isn’t always a negative thing. It can be a positive influence and help challenge or motivate you to do your best. However, it’s helpful to recognize that peer pressure can also be negative. It can result in yo.

The type of research design depends on the type of research questions asked. For this Discussion, select one of the articles from the reading list and consider several classifications of group research designs. By explaining whether the study is pre-experimental (cross-sectional, one-shot case study, and longitudinal), experimental (control group with pretest and posttest, posttest only, or four-group design), or quasi-experimental (comparing one group to itself at different times or comparing two different groups) 2. By indicating what the researchers report about limitations of the study 3. By explaining concerns you have regarding internal validity and the ability of the study to draw conclusions about causality 4. By explaining any concerns you have about the generalizability of the study (external validity) and what aspect of the research design might limit generalizability TRANSCRIPT: Hernandez Family Episode 5 Program Transcript FEMALE SPEAKER: They've missed four of their parenting classes so far. FEMALE SPEAKER: So they haven't completed their parenting group? FEMALE SPEAKER: I have to call the ACS worker and let her know. They're probably going to have to take the classes over again, and that's going to be tough. The classes caused the father to miss overtime at work, and they really rely on that money to make ends meet. FEMALE SPEAKER: But they have to finish the program. They're only allowed three missed classes. There's another problem. You know the agency's been conducting a study of our performance. Well, it lowers our completion numbers. Lower numbers put our funding at risk. Our bosses start questioning the credibility of what we're trying to do here. FEMALE SPEAKER: But I can't give the Hernandez family the post test. They won't be able to complete it. FEMALE SPEAKER: No, that's not why I brought this up. The agency needs data to determine how effective these parenting classes are. The more attrition we have when parents don't finish the program, there's no data. No data means no support for what we're teaching or how it might benefit other populations.
