2. Who are English Language Leaner’s Students whose first language is not English are considered English Language Learners. Students are labeled ELL or English Language Learners. They are tested and put into three categories, non English speaker, limited English speaker, and fluent English speakers.
3. Accomodations Some districts may provide programs for these students like Bilingual, Dual-Language, or a form of ESL classes to help students achieve the state expectations.
4. Technology’s ROLE The use of technology in conjunction with one of the other programs can benefit students and assist teachers to create lessons for these students.

Technology helps increase Vocabulary Using technology, in the forms of multi-media and audio visuals can help students by linking the new words or concepts they are learning to pictures sounds, and/ or videos. Using vocabulary powerpoint presentations, clipart, and internet are great examples! The students are reading.
6. Increase phonics and fluency Phonic and fluency software can be installed in classrooms to aid students. These type of software provide phonics basics and opportunities for students to listen and read to the computer to gain fluency.
7. Increase communication in the English Computer projects stimulate students to interact, converse, and practice the language while applying what they have been learning in the classroom.
8. WORLD WIDE COMMUNICATION Interactions can be made with other students across the world by using the web. This provides students opportunities to learn about other cultures and/or find students that have a similar culture.
9. Technology Across the curriculums Computers can facilitate other subject areas like math. Students can create graphs and other visuals to represent data. Research can be done easily!
10. Motivates writers Technology can instigate students to use the language to communicate through writing. Students who may find writing boring will sometimes prefer to type.
11. Provides Relevancy Students can listen and witness how language is necessary in different domains aside from the classroom. This form of technology offers motivation for desire to learn the language because they know they will apply

By implementing different forms of technology in lessons, teachers will be able to increase comprehension, increase interactions, make language relevant, and maintain a positive learning environment to ensure that English Language Learners achieve English acquisition.
