What is the flipped classroom? • Inverts traditional teaching methods. • Delivers instruction online outside of the class. • Moves homework into the classroom.
How is it used in the classroom? • Students view the lecture outside of class. ▫ Set their own pace ▫ Communicate with peers and the teacher via online discussions • Class time is spent on inquiry-based learning. ▫ Hands on activities ▫ Games ▫ Experiments ▫ Projects ▫ Presentations

What are the benefits?
Flipping the Elementary Classroom • Don’t flip a class, flip a lesson. • Think of it as another technique in your arsenal. • Keep the video at an appropriate length. • Know if there are access issues. • Come up with a way to make sure your students have watched the video.
