GRADE 7 UAE SST How was culture spread in China? Belief systems that came from outside China were spread mostly via trade and diplomatic exchange, and almost all of them have been assimilated into Chinese culture. There is a mutual influence in China between the development of traditions and beliefs and the advances in technology and production. How did Indian culture spread in China? Thereafter Indian missionaries as well as Chinese scholars translated Buddhist scriptures and other writings into Chinese. Indian missionaries not only preached a new faith but also brought in new cultural influences. Indian mathematics and astronomical ideas enriched Chinese knowledge in these fields. Where did China get its culture from? Chinese have traditionally believed that the Huaxia tribe originated Chinese culture. Ancient texts say that the Huaxia lived in the Central Plain near Beijing hundreds of years before the Shang Dynasty (1600–1046 BC) started and spread westwards and southwards along the Yellow River basin. How did Islam spread to Southeast Asia? Muslim merchants from the Arabian Peninsula had to pass through these islands of the south via the maritime Silk Roads to reach China's ports. In addition, according to historical accounts, Muslim traders came to the Indonesian islands because of the rare spices present there. What is the cultural history of China? China — History and Culture China is arguably the cradle of Asian civilization, as evidence of human settlements along the Yellow River Valley date back thousands of years. Early China was dominated by feudal lords and warring areas, including the Shang and Zhou dynasties, which were among the most famous early rulers of China.

No empire ever united or even pretended to unite all its peoples, its peaks and valleys, or its vast island chains, though plenty of rulers claimed to be god-kings of T the whole world (chakravartin). The 11 nations of modern Southeast Asia— Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma (Myanmar), Malaysia, Singa- pore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Timor (see map 10.1)—have come to think of themselves as a geopolitical region with important interests in common, but this is a phenomenon of the twentieth century. The mainland region, excluding northern Vietnam, together with Java and Bali, came early under Indian cultural influence, with god-kings whose palaces were models of the Himalayan abode of Hindu gods—an influence that lasted over a millen- nium and is still clearly visible today. Northern Vietnam for many centuries was China’s southernmost province, with the first written forms of its language in Chinese characters and with an elite who quoted Confucius and ran its bureaucracy in the Mandarin manner. Southeast Asia includes two great archi- pelagoes, themselves collections of hundreds of islands of tremendous diversity, both of which had political unity forced on them by colonialism. The Dutch created “Indonesia” out of several western islands where states had existed in the past, especially Java and Bali; a number of central islands that are home to tribal folk who never formed states and never wished to join the states of oth- ers; and an easternmost province, Irian Jaya, which belongs culturally though not politically to New Guinea. The second archipelago, the Philippines—“300 years in a Catholic convent and 50 years in Hollywood”—was longest colo- nized of all, first by the Spanish who sailed in from the east across the Pacific with shiploads of gold dollars from their Mexican colony, and then in the twen- tieth century by the United States. Christianity is India's third-largest religion after Hinduism and Islam. Saint Thomas the Apostle is said to have brought Christianity to India who supposedly reached the Malabar Coast (Kerala) in 52 AD. Saint Thomas was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Local rulers in Kerala gave the St. Thomas Christians various rights and privileges which were written on copper plates. In Mughal times Missionaries took advantage of using visual aids for propagating Christianity (Christian Faith) to the Mughal emperor Akbar. It was during his time when artists imitated copies of European art specifically related to Christian faith. His successors Jahangir and Shah Jahan also motivated artists to imitate Christian art and to create in a European manner. The very first paintings to reach the Mughal court were large oil paintings of Mother Mary, a religious figure known to the Muslim world, by her presence in the Quran. Two things about history
Two things about history

North Korea is often portrayed as a 'rogue state' and 'unpredictable' but like any other state it has a history which has to be taken into account to make sense of its present. Throughout the 20th century, Northern Korea has been on the front lines between empires, and between imperialists and liberators. The end of the Cold War globally has not solved the Korean separation the way it solved the German one, though the ideological rhetoric has changed. North Korean leadership invokes this history regularly to explain and justify its positions, and this has to be taken seriously in any analysis of North Korea's 21st century development. Along with Imperialisms past and present, North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile programs are offshoots of 20th century processes of proliferation, in which weapons technology passed from state to state, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Perhaps more importantly, North Korea is drawing on the experience of disarmament over the last 25 years, a process that has not always gone well for states that surrender their nuclear weapons capacity. All this is true, but perhaps more importantly, it appears to be the foundation of the North Korean understanding of how we got to this point, and what matters in this moment: regime survival in the face of multiple hostile controlling empires. We are historical beings, etc.

Wajahat Ali's play "Domestic Crusaders" is a family drama based on 1st and 2nd generation Pakistani immigrants in the US. It is funny, touching, intense, and lively, and nothing in it was surprising to someone like me who grew up with family dramas based on 1st and 2nd generation Eastern European Jews. This is why "Diaspora" is a useful scholarly term: there are patterns. Historians often shy away from that sort of talk, because we're more interested in particularity and complexity, but without abandoning our interest in what's distinctive, sometimes we have to admit that the sociologists are on to something and ask Why? These patterns are structural, building on fundamental aspects of modernity: nationalism, infrastructure. Persistent racism in the US makes it hard for even third-generation Americans to be fully mainstream and enhances what might be considered the 'natural solidarity' of immigrants who share linguistic and cultural characteristics. The modern infrastructure of transportation and communication means that immigrants remain in contact with home countries, but also have resources with which to implant and expand their home cultures locally. This is enhanced on both sides by nationalism and the nation-state which, even in America, define citizenship culturally as much as legally. Parenting on a cultural frontier enhances tensions between assimilation and preservation of culture. Even in the 1st generation, the impossibility of fully replicating the home environment means that their attachment to home becomes focused on particular aspects of home culture and involves a great deal of assimilation.

A dramatic increase in physical mobility is a hallmark of the transition to modernity in any society. The combination of economic industrialization, mechanization of transportation and proletarianization of labor makes migration necessary for effective development. This paper will examine concepts of modernity to elucidate the central role played by migration in transition to economic, social, cultural, and political modernity. Changes in internal and external migration in 19th and 20th century China, Japan, and Korea will be examined along with conventional historiographical periodization to see how understanding modernity as movement can and should alter our understanding of East Asian history.

My entry into the "Two Things About" discussion: History, History Writing, and History Teaching. Good for introductory lectures. I know "earlier antecedents" is redundant, but it's how I worded it originally, and I still like it: it emphasizes that the immediate causes are not always the important ones, and those causes have causes.... etc. The newer version of this, with Mark Mulligan's pyramid, can be found at: https://www.slideshare.net/jdresner/two-things-about-history You can find the original "Two Things" page at http://www.csun.edu/~dgw61315/thetwothings.html

Meanwhile, the simultaneous occurrence of multiple melodic lines can create a more intricate and complex musical structure that challenges the listener's ear and engages their attention.

The pricing and discounting feature is very essential for Odoo POS. Global discount is actually a discount that will apply to the entire order. And it indicates that the discount is applied to every item in the order, regardless of how much each item costs separately. This slide will show how to manage global discounts in odoo 17 POS.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
