Secondments en verdieping
Op verzoek van cliënten worden advocaten en juristen van
CMS regelmatig tijdelijk uitgeleend. Dit biedt deze cliënten
de mogelijkheid om extra juridische expertise in huis te
halen. Tegelijkertijd krijgen onze juristen de gelegenheid
om meer inzicht te krijgen in de organisatie en aanvullende
branchekennis op te doen. Daardoor worden zij meer een
businesspartner dan alleen juridisch adviseur van de cliënt.
Het omgekeerde komt ook voor: juristen van cliënten komen
op secondment bij CMS.
Duco Postma vertelt: ‘Mijn secondment bij de afdeling
Credit & Security Documentation van ABN AMRO was een
uitstekende kans om de werk­ en denkwijzen van mijn cliënt
beter te leren kennen. Mijn werkzaamheden bestonden
onder andere uit het opstellen en beoordelen van krediet­
en zekerheidsdocumentatie. Ik heb drie maanden plezierig
met de mensen van ABN AMRO samengewerkt en heel veel
geleerd. Mijn secondment heeft bovendien de basis gelegd
voor een nog intensievere samenwerking.’

We routinely receive requests from our clients to second
members of our legal staff to them on a temporary basis.
This provides our clients with additional legal expertise,
but it also gives our lawyers a golden opportunity to gain
a greater understanding of our clients’ organisations and
the markets in which they operate. Our lawyers become our
clients’ business partners instead of just their legal advisers.
This beneficial exchange works both ways; some of our
clients second their lawyers to CMS.
Duco Postma has this to say about his secondment at
ABN AMRO’s Credit & Security Documentation department:
‘It was an excellent opportunity to gain a better under­
standing of how my client operates and formulates ideas.
My work included drafting and assessing credit and security
documentation. I enjoyed my three months working with
the people at ABN AMRO, and I learned a great deal.
My secondment also laid the foundation for closer
collaboration with the client.’

daar regelmatig van genieten. De samenwerking bevalt beide organisaties zo goed dat
