Suzuki Program vs. Traditional: Which Music Curriculum Is Better?
1. Suzuki Program vs. Traditional: Which Music Curriculum Is Better?
What is the world renowned Suzuki Method of music instruction? It was founded by Dr. Suzuki, a
violin teacher in Japan. The components of this curriculum include: listening, repetition,
encouragement, and learning to play music before learning to read music. He believed children
could learn music early in life in the same way they learned to speak and the most important factor is
involved parents and loving teachers. Every child has talent and deserves to have his or her
potential nurtured and developed. This philosophy also believes that the study of music helps to
develop self-esteem in children, respect for others, and a cultivated aesthetic sensibility. Music is the
universal language, which helps to bring harmony and peace to the world.

Traditional Music Lessons Also Offered at Our Weston Music Academy
Jammin Kids has been teaching music lessons in Weston, Florida since 1995. We don't require our
customers to follow one set curriculum. One of the secrets to our success is not only trying to
match the right teacher with the student but also the right curriculum. Also important is finding the
instrument best suited to your child. Some of our students start out with one instrument and then
move on to others. Different students learn at different paces. Different instructors prefer different
curriculums. Some curriculums & instructors are more challenging, while others are more laid back.
Some older students (middle & high school) tend to not want their parents taking the lessons with
them. Others form family Garage Bands! The key to success knows your child, finding not only the
right teacher but also the right instrument as well as the best curriculum suited for them to
successfully learn how to play an instrument. We can all race to learn an instrument but even if we
each go at different paces hopefully we will all still know how to play one by the end of the race!
