2. Actors and actresses names who are in
the film are placed at the top so the
spectators can clearly see who is in the
film.
The central image of the two main
protagonists is the first thing your eye is
drawn to.
This image allows the audience to
understand what may happen in the film.
The title is bold and is in a red colour
which shows that this film may contain
blood or some danger.
It is not as clear as the image which
shows its not the first thing they want
the spectator to look at.
All of these film posters contain a
caption. This one says “It’s the last one
you’ll ever take.” It lets the spectator
know that something bad is going to
happen.
3. The central image of this poster is of the
cabin. Because this image is central and is
large it is the first thing people will look at.
Without seeing the film the image shows
that a game maybe involved as it has been
split and moved sort of like a rubix cube.
The name ‘The cabin in the woods’
explains where the film is based and lets
the spectator know what to expect.
The caption on this poster says “You think
you know the story”. This says to the
spectator that they may think they know
what’s going to happen throughout the
film but unexpected things are going to
happen.
Tells you who the producers are and their
previous work which spectators may
recognise.
4. Critical acclaim
Reviews and opinions from well
known film websites which
entice the spectator to go and
watch based on what they say.
On the first poster they put
the date as April 13. On this
poster they put Friday 13 April
which makes it sound more
scarier as Friday 13th is known
to be an unlucky date .
5. The caption on this poster is “Someone has
taken their love of scary movies one step
too far. Solving this mystery is going to be
murder.” This tells the spectator that this
film is about a normal person who goes
around killing people. And for the people
who are trying to figure out who is doing
it, may not last long enough to find out.
The central image for this poster is of a girl
with a hand over her mouth. This image is
the first thing your eye is drawn to as it is
big and covers the whole poster.
It shows to the spectator that it is the
females that are being murdered and who
are the ones who are being targeted.
This picture also relates to the name of the
film ‘SCREAM’ as the hand over her mouth
is preventing her from screaming and it is
saying don’t scream or you may die.
Tells you who the main actors and
actresses are.
6. For our Horror film poster we will be taking our
main inspiration from the ‘Wrong Turn’ poster.
Our main background for our poster will be of
the woods, with an image of our protagonist
central to the image. She will be looking over
her shoulder wondering deeper into the woods.
You can then see the shadow of the killer
walking behind her at the bottom of the poster.
The name of our film is ‘Hidden’ the title will be
placed at the top of the poster where it can be
seen clearly.
The date our film will be released will be placed
underneath the title as seen in the ‘Cabin In The
Woods’ poster.
At the bottom of the page similar to the ‘Wrong
Turn’ poster we will include a caption such as
the one they included of “It’s the last one you’ll
ever take”.
