2. What’s Christmas for?
In Spain, Christmas is a celebration where the families in
Christmas Eve and in New Year’s Eve are meeting to have
diner.
3. In Christmas the families always:
· Put a Christmas tree and decorate it.
· Put a “Belen” (Nativity Scene).
· Send Christmas postcards to family and friends.
5. Christmas Eve night
At 24th night Santa Claus come to children’s houses, to leave
some presents.
6. New Year’s Eve
In New Year’s Eve the families have diner and then at twelve
o’clock all people look at the TV where the chimes are
broadcast, the people eat twelve grapes , one by chime.
7. REYES (The Three Wise Men’s Day)
At 5th night The Three Wise Men come come to children’s
houses too , to leave lots of presents under the Christmas
tree.
8. A Curious Tradition
• Normally the people buy a “ Roscón de Reyes”.
The “Roscón de Reyes” is a kind of ring-shaped
sponge cake (which can be stuffed with cream), the
roscón has inside a bean and a figure.
And if in your piece of “roscón” is it the bean you
must to pay the roscón.
