My favourite city: Cologne

2. Cologne
 I think that my favourite city is Cologne (Köln,
Germany) because it is a very important city
where you can do a lot of different things and
learn a lot of culture.
 I have never been to Cologne, but I would like to
visit it.

3. Situation of Cologne
 Cologne is situated in the West of Germany, in
the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
 It is Germany's fourth-largest city, after Berlin,
Hamburg, and Munich.

4. Cologne
 Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine
River, which can be sailed on boat.
 The most important building in Cologne is its
cathedral, which is the seat of the Catholic
Archbishop of Cologne.
 You can also have a nice walk on the banks of
the river and over the old part of the town.

5. How to arrive in Cologne?
 OPTION A: THE LONG, EXPENSIVE TRIP
 1. Catch an ALSA bus from Oviedo to Madrid’s main coach
station.
 2. Get a local bus from the bus station to Barajas T-4.
 3. Take a flight from Barajas to Frankfurt airport (Lufthansa,
Iberia).
 4. Get a bus from the airport to Frankfurt Railway Station.
 5. Take a train from Frankfurt to Cologne.
 6. Admire the fantastic landscapes of the journey from the train.

6. How to arrive in Cologne?
 OPTION B: THE SHORT, ECONOMIC TRIP
 1. Take a flight from Asturias to Palma de Mallorca (Air Berlin,
Air Europa).
 2. Take another flight from Palma to the Airport of
Cologne/Bonn (Germanwings).
 3. Catch a train from the Airport to the central Railway Station
of Cologne.
