The Romace of Travel
My most romantic holidays experience was a
holiday at Marigot Bay in St. Lucia. We were
ferried across 100 yards of water, to an outcrop
of coconut trees on a white sand of beach at the
foot of a mounotain. By itself it is a most
romantic place, but in this case we were on our
first trip as a family, my partner and her 2
children, the management upgraded our room to

The boatman ferried us in small outboard
powered pirogue, guests joked and shared our
joy. Cosmos with his fist against his heart,
bowed in "respect" and invited us to sail with him
around the bay. In the day we kayaked,
snorkeled over the reefs, went sightseeing and

dinning by the water, gleaming in the moons
reflection, tree frogs singing in the light summer air.
Saint. Lucia is romantic to me because of
these memories. Even simple things like sitting

Barbados, or just siting at a Yatch Club, the sun
falling behind the yachts moored and awaiting
the next romantic adventure with the sea.
Sailing is romantic. Sailing in a tiny boat lost in
oceans of wilderness, brings a sense of awe
and connection. We are just a dot in the
universe. Sailing an an old time wooden
schooner through the Grenadines in the
Caribbean is a romance of nostalgic proportions.

Romance is a state of mind. There are no
boundaries to romance, no pretense and no
conditions. Romance is open to all. Holidays to
