ABOUT ISED
ISED is a department of the Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF), established in 1993,
and is aimed at creating innovative social solutions
through social enterprise.

Vision
We seek the formation and development of social entrepreneurs who
devote their lives to building ethical, just and profitable social
enterprises rooted in the values of citizenship, sustainability and social
responsibility (CSR 3.0).
Mission
Our mission is to advocate, identify, train, assist and develop social
entrepreneurs in Asia for them to build strong and profitable
enterprises, rooted in the values of citizenship, sustainability and social
responsibility (CSR 3.0).
THE I/A PROGRAM

The ISED Investment/Accelerator Program is aimed at catalyzing the
growth of viable businesses committed to address a social challenge in
the Philippines.
It commences with an investment pitch camp that will call for 15-20
social enterprises to apply and pitch before the BCYF Investors. Those
selected will be recipients of the BCYF Social Enterprise Investment, and
will be part of the BCYF-ISED portfolio of social enterprises, that are
committed to growing their ventures to financial and social impact
profitability.
ISED I/A PROGRAM COMPONENTS
ISED PITCH CAMP
It will be a one-weekend boot camp every quarter to hear pitches of social entrepreneurs
looking for investment. The first day is dedicated to workshops on refining pitches and
orientation with equity investment. The last day is dedicated to the actual pitch. Social
entrepreneurs will have to apply and pay an application fee of Php1000 per head (max 3
heads) inclusive of the workshop fee for the pitch camp. At least 3-5 enterprises will be
selected at each round of pitching.
BCYF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE INVESTMENT
Once selected, the enterprises will join the BCYF-ISED portfolio of companies who avail of
focused consulting and business service (through CBS) and monthly mentoring through
board meetings with the BCYF investors.
The goal is to enable the social enterprise to grow in revenues and social impact, with
capital efficiency and attractive financial returns.
SCREENING CRITERIA
We look for social enterprises with the following criteria:
For the Enterprise:
Must be a registered business operating for at least 1 year, ideally SEC-registered. If not SEC
registered, entrepreneurs must be willing to shift to a SEC registration for corporations in
order to accept venture capital.

operating year.
For the Entrepreneur(s):
Has a commitment to solve a certain social problem
Must be open to learning and change
Must have a commitment to grow and scale the business

government liabilities upon receiving the investment. Enterprises that have pending government
compliance requirements are required to secure them to avail of the investment.
Submit audited financial statements.
Sign Memorandum of Agreement and Investment terms.
Undergo a strategic planning session with CBS-BCYF – the consulting and business service of BCYF.
