Panasas is introducing PanFS 5.5, an update to their scale-out NAS software that provides the first enterprise-grade Microsoft Windows support for technical computing workflows. Key features include commercially licensed SMB protocol support for improved Windows client access, Active Directory integration, up to 2x faster Windows performance, and increased availability and security controls. PanFS 5.5 will be available free of charge for existing Panasas customers with support agreements and is expected to ship on March 31, 2014.
