1. Some papers of Professor R.C. Gupta
Professor Radha Charan Gupta, a veteran historian of mathematics, has been
associated with the Indian Society for History of Mathematics (ISHM) from its
inception in 1978; he is a founder member of the Society and is now a Vice
President of its Council, for over a decade. He took charge, at the founding
of the Society, of bringing out the bulletin of the Society, Ganita Bharati, and
fostered it as Editor for over a quarter century, until 2005.
Professor Gupta has been a prolific researcher and expositor, with profound
impact on the study of the history of Indian mathematics. His bibliography runs
into hundreds of titles, and the topics involved cover almost all aspects of Indian
mathematics from the ancient to the pre-colonial times. For more details on the

It is our pleasure to make accessible to the readers some of the papers of
Professor Gupta through this website. It is proposed to add more papers to the
collection in future.
