Source London is the electric car scheme for Capital
A major part of the UK “Plugged in Places” programme
It brings together over 20 consortium partners from the public and
private sector
Provides public access to any Source London charger via a single card
Target is to deploy over 1,300 public charging points by 2013
Siemens is a major sponsor the programme and provides the back
office IT systems and operational services

from this and other projects
≫ An Electro-mobility scheme is a business process rather than a technical
challenge
≫ The solution is customer rather charger centric
≫ Consistent operational delivery trumps software functionality
≫ Maintenance and support for the installed chargers is more important
than the chargers themselves
Be aware of the future
Consider the transition to transactional rather than subscription based
services
Ensure consistent and reliable field installation and maintenance
Evolutions in the vehicle sector will be rapid
