Have you ever considered building model cars but were unsure where to get started? You may have
wandered the aisle at your local retail store and looked at the boxes and thought that it could be a
fun hobby to pick up. You also may well have had a model given to you as a birthday present or for
some holiday. It may possibly have sat at the back of your closet and you have just ran across it

The first suggested tool is a decent hobby knife. Best bought in a set with multiple blade shapes and
sizes a hobby knife is your best friend in model building. It will allow you to remove parts from the
sprue (the plastic frame that holds the parts) and will also help you to do any trimming that may be
necessary. Sometimes the plastic will come with a bit of extra plastic sticking off of it. This is called
flashing and is just a by-product of the manufacturing process.
Wrap narrow colored tape around glass jars. Draw a Halloween image on the front of the jar, on the
tape, then use a craft knife to cut out the image. Set a votive or tea light in the bottom, light with a
stick match, then set the glowing lantern on mantles, porches, tables or other areas. Do more
simplistic designs by purchasing a colored candle to set in the bottom. Use the colored tape to make
orange, black, yellow or other colors of stripes around the jar. Leave one area of the jar open - with
no tape wrapped around it - so the glow can be seen through the glass.

launch pad but doesn't come with engines or wadding so you have to order them separately. Quest
has several kits that have everything including the engines and wadding and two of these kits are
the Astra III Quick Kit StarterHAZ and the Vertigo RTF HAZ. When you order kits with engines or
engines separately you have to allow a longer delivery time. Engines, because they have a fire
creating material in them, cannot be shipped by air. They can only be shipped by ground.
Spray the entire desk with Krylon Indoor Outdoor Spray Primer in All-Purpose White. Let the desk
set for about an hour before continuing. Tape off the desktop with masking tape. Paint the remaining
area on the desk with Krylon Indoor Outdoor Spray Paint in Ivy Leaf. Dry for an hour before adding
an additional coat. If needed, continue to add coats of green paint until you reach your desired green
shade. Let the desk set for four to five hours before removing the masking tape. Tape off all the
green areas with masking tape. Paint the desktop using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Spray Paint in
Watermelon. Again, dry for an hour before adding a second coat of pink paint. Let the desk set
overnight to dry. Remove all masking tape.
A deluxe tool kit should include the following; paintbrushes and artist brushes in assorted sizes,
wooden dowels in assorted diameters, craft knives, thickness slats or playing cards, clay shaping
tools, dental tools, textured brass plates, drinking straws and clay shape cutters.
All that's left to do is clean up. Be sure to pull up the painter's tape as soon after painting as
possible. You don't want to risk leaving any residue behind that you'll have to scrub up.
You'll have tons of fun for years to come with this technique. Print out military images or song lyrics
for a picture of a veteran. Print pictures of famous couples getting married, use them on a picture
frame, then present the frame to a new bride and groom. It's so much fun to create the cool new
picture frames and mirrors that you'll find yourself doing it to every frame you own!
