3. Public Marriage License
A Public Marriage license requires witness signatures.
Anyone can get a copy of a public Marriage record.
You can be issued a public marriage license from any
county in California.
The public license can then be used anywhere in California.
4. Confidential Marriage License
A confidential Marriage License does not require witness
signatures.
Only the Bride, Groom, or Courts can get a copy of a
Confidential Marriage record.
A Confidential Marriage License must be used in the
County it was issued.
5. Where do I get the Marriage License?
You can go to the County Courthouse, Recorder/Clerk’s Office to
obtain your marriage license.

Can be issued and used on the same day no waiting period.
6. What information does Life’s Journey Ceremonies
need to issue our license?
The Application for Confidential Marriage License
must be filled out online.

Go to www.lifesjourneyceremonies.com
Click on “Marriage License” tab.
Enter all information asked for and submit.
Provide copies of your photo ID (call for details)
Pay the $100 retainer to begin the licensing process.
If divorced within the last 2 years provide copy of final court
decree.
Documents can be emailed or sent as a text attachment.
7. What are the fees for issuing and delivering a
Marriage License?
The Fee for issuing and delivering the marriage license to your location
is $195.00
You can order certified copies from Los Angeles County when the
license is issued for $14.00 per copy.
Extra travel fees apply for remote distances. Call for details.
8. How Many Copies of the Marriage Certificate
Should we order?
It is recommend that you order at least two copies.
To effect a name change will require copies be shown to the Social
Security and DMV offices.
Additional copies can be ordered depending on your need.
The copies usually take 6-8 weeks to arrive at your mailing address.
